Does UFC boss Dana White want to see Facebook overlord Mark Zuckerberg compete for the UFC? Yes, but it isn’t what you’re thinking.

In mixed martial arts circles, it has been well established that billionaire Mark Zuckerberg is a huge UFC fan. And over the last decade, he has begun to train and compete in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He has also done general MMA training. Furthermore, two summers ago, there were real conversations about a billionaire’s cage fight between him and one of the few men in the world richer than him, Elon Musk.

UFC CEO Dana White is always about the money. He even let WWE legend CM Punk fight inside the Octagon twice during the 2010s. So there has always been speculation whether White would try to bank big bucks from the Facebook founder’s name and let him compete for the UFC.

Well, White offered an invitation for “Zuck” to compete for the UFC. However, it is not an invitation to fight inside the cage. Instead, it’s an opportunity to compete in an official match for their new BJJ promotion.

“If Mark keeps training and competing and whatever, he could literally come here and fight in UFC BJJ, 100%.”

However, Zuckerberg wasn’t the only famous individual the UFC boss stated is welcome to compete for their new BJJ company. “Mario Lopez competes in tournaments. Tom Hardy competes in tournaments. So, this is a spot anybody could come and compete here in jujitsu,” White told TMZ Sports.

The idea of any of those men fighting in the Octagon is ludicrous. However, for UFC BJJ, it is very possible. They have all competed in notable BJJ tournaments in recent years and have had success.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu allows for competition with 100% effort but without the brutality of MMA. With White having friends in high places, don’t be shocked if he does land some interesting celebrities to compete for UFC BJJ.

The new venture will have its first event on Wednesday night, and it will air for free on YouTube.
