UCLA leading scorer Johnny Juzang sat out Thursday’s 81-57 victory over California while in COVID-19 protocol.

Juzang, who is averaging 18.1 points and 4.9 rebounds, was a star of last year’s NCAA Tournament during the Bruins’ run to the Final Four. He scored 137 points in six NCAA games, second most in program history behind Gail Goodrich (140 in 1965).

UCLA coach Mick Cronin told reporters the junior guard had a random test that returned positive, although he’s feeling good.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 15 points to pace the Bruins (15-2, 7-1 Pac-12) to a victory over the Bears.
