The Los Angeles Chargers selected Justin Herbert sixth overall last month, so where does that leave veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor?

Tyrod Taylor will keep the starting job all year

According to Michael Silver of NFL.com, Taylor should keep the starting job all season long.

Silver notes that head coach Anthony Lynn want to run an offense that’s perfectly suited to Taylor’s style of play. He also said the Chargers believe they can win this season with the veteran under center.

Additionally, Silver talked about how Herbert isn’t going to be the type of personality that rocks the boat — unlike Baker Mayfield. That observation meshes well with stuff we heard about the former Oregon star before the draft.

This take on the Chargers’ quarterback situation also mirrors what Pro Football Network reported recently. Essentially, the job is Taylor’s to lose. He should remain under center the entire year unless the Chargers are eliminated from playoff contention.
