The New York Jets are now down to their third-string quarterback. Starter Sam Darnold is out for the next several weeks with mono.

Making the start in his stead Monday night against the Cleveland Browns, veteran Trevor Siemian suffered an absolutely brutal ankle injury in the second quarter.

We’re not going to embed the video here. If you want to see it, follow this link.

What an absolutely gruesome injury for Siemian to suffer in his first start of the season. There’s no words to explain just how horrific it is until you see it.

Needless to say, New York will be without the veteran for the long haul. Shockingly, Siemian was able to walk off the field.

That’s the story here, and the NFL world reacted in kind.
