Djokovic isn’t as dominant on the clay as he is on other surfaces, but it was only two years ago that he finally claimed victory at Roland Garros for his first French Open title.
Needless to say, this outcome was not expected, especially given his opponent Tuesday.

Even more stunning was his revelation that he might not even play on the grass this year.
Novak Djokovic didn’t say much in a press conference conducted in a small interview room (without an official microphone) immediately after coming off court – but he did say he’s not sure whether he will play on the grass

What a match. Brilliant display from Cecchinato, very much deserved. Djokovic again showing his class at the end, ever the gentleman. #RG18
