Twitter reacts to Michael Wacha blowing no-hitter in ninth inning

By Michael Dixon

For the second time in his career, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Michael Wacha took a no-hitter into the ninth inning on Sunday. But just like the first time, it was not meant to be.

Pittsburgh Pirates pinch-hitter Colin Moran broke the no-no up with a single in the ninth.

Have a look at what Twitter had to say as all of this was happening.

It seems like a no-hitter would lose some value then, wouldn’t it?

While Wacha didn’t complete the no-no, he did experience the same isolation as pitchers who do complete the job.

He’s a veteran at going through it. For Wacha’s sake, we can only hope that his near misses will help him close the deal next time.

For now, he’ll have to settle for a good outing.
