Seattle Mariners starting pitcher James Paxton had a memorable night on Tuesday. Paxton, a Canadian, threw a no-hitter against the Toronto Blue Jays in Canada.
NO SUCH THING AS JINXES.

Paxton went the full nine innings, walked three, struck out seven, and needed only 99 pitches.
Twitter reacted to the no-hitter as it was happening, and after it was completed.
Naturally, the Blue Jays tried to jinx the no-no.
NO-HITTER. NO-HITTER. NO-HITTER. NO-HITTER. NO-HITTER. NO-HITTER. NO-HITTER. NO-HITTER. NO-HITTER. NO-HITTER. NO-HITTER. NO-HITTER. James Paxton survived an Eagle attack to pitch a no hitter. Amazing.

Attacked by a bald eagle, 16 strikeouts in a loss and now a no-hitter? Been an awfully eventful start to the season for James Paxton. #Mariners

James Paxton saved his fastest 2 pitches of his no-hitter for his last 2: 99.5 and 99.0. Dug deep. #Mariners

James Paxton, man. You've seen flashes of this talent for years. What a beast. Who hits 100 in the 9th? That's some show.

James Paxton is the 2nd Canadian-born pitcher in Major League history to throw a no-hitter (also: Dick Fowler-STL, 9/9/45 at PHA). #Mariners pic.twitter.com/yWWEDidG2O

James Paxton showing off the maple leaf tattoo on his right arm after throwing a no-hitter against the Blue Jays in Toronto. Very cool.

It was the third no-hitter pitched in 2018. Oakland Athletics pitcher Sean Manaea no-hit the Boston Red Sox in April, while the Los Angeles Dodgers threw a combined no-hitter against the San Diego Padres earlier in May. Interestingly enough, the no-hitters took place in three different countries. Manaea threw his in the United States, the Dodgers’ no-no occurred in Mexico, while this one came in Canada.
