On a day where all of the attention has been on the NFL Playoffs, Troy Aikman seems to be doing everything he can to grab attention by any means necessary. After blasting Wade Phillips and the Los Angeles Rams defense before the game, Aikman took things to an eyebrow-raising level with a bold proclamation about Robert Woods.

As the Rams’ offense drove down the field, Aikman felt the timing was right to declare Woods as the best wide receiver in the NFL.

Yes, he said those exact words. It’s not that Woods is a bad receiver, he is extremely talented and the move from the Buffalo Bills to the Rams has transformed his career.

However, Woods finished 25th in yards after catch (417), 24th in touchdowns (six), 17th in receptions (86) and 13th in receiving yards (1,219) compared to his peers in 2018. Heck, he’s probably not even the best receiver on his own team.

There isn’t even an argument for him as a top-10 wide receiver, but Aikman found a way to vault him to the top.

As the words escaped from his mouth and spilled out onto national television, everyone quickly ate it up. Within minutes, everyone on Twitter quickly went to work roasting Aikman for his horrific take.
