There have been some ridiculous plays made around the nation this week, but none can top the punt return of Tre’Davious White Saturday night.
Near halftime in the LSU game against Jacksonville State, White took a long punt 60 yards back for a touchdown. That’s always exciting, but you have to see what he did to accomplish the feat to truly appreciate how magnificent this return really was.
He was wrapped up. He was corralled. He should have been dropped.
But no. Tre’Davious White had other ideas about how this particular story would end. His phenomenal return gave the Tigers a 27-10 lead heading into halftime.
The Tigers were, at one point, down in this game. Then Les Miles benched an ineffective Brandon Harris and inserted Purdue transfer Danny Etling, who promptly led three touchdown drives in succession to flip the script.
After some nervous moments early, LSU appears poised to roll in the second half for its first win of the season.
