Taking part in his first ever NBA Playoff game, Atlanta Hawks star guard Trae Young played out of his mind against the New York Knicks on Sunday.

The backdrop here was a Madison Square Garden that was absolutely electric as the Knicks took part in their first playoff game since 2013. Roughly 15,000 Knicks fans were in attendance to take their frustration out on Young and the Hawks. That included fans at MSG coming up with some rather creative chants to taunt Trae Young and his team.

Unfortunately for the long-downtrodden Knicks, it was this young guard who stepped up when it counted the most. That included this absolutely absurd circus shot with less than one second to go to give Atlanta a 107-105 win.

How Trae Young was able to get that shot to go is beyond comprehension. He drove past multiple Knicks players before floating it up and in for the game-winner.

Interestingly enough, this came mere seconds after Derrick Rose tied the game up with an incredible shot of his own. The game itself also wasn’t without drama. With the game tied at 103 and 28.6 second left, Knicks wing R.J. Barrett was called for a foul against Trae Young. To say it was questionable would be an understatement.

New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau challenged the foul call. It was unsuccessful, leading to two free throws from Young.

As it stands, the young point guard finished Game 1 with 32 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists on 11-of-23 shooting. He joined the aforementioned Derrick Rose in some elite company in the process while quieting Knicks fans in a big way.
