The Toronto Blue Jays put third baseman Santiago Espinal on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a strained right hip flexor.

Outfielder Jarrod Dyson, claimed off waivers Friday from the Kansas City Royals, replaced Espinal on the roster and joined the team in Detroit on Sunday.

Espinal, 26, left Saturday’s 3-2 win against the Tigers in the second inning with the injury.
