The Toronto Blue Jays have extended their stay in Buffalo, N.Y., through July 21.

The team previously committed to playing at Sahlen Field, home of their Triple-A affiliate, through July 4.

The Blue Jays are unable to play in Ontario due to pandemic-related Canadian border restrictions.

Toronto opened this season playing home games at its spring training complex in Dunedin, Fla.

The Blue Jays began playing in Buffalo on June 1. The team said it has received approval from state and local health officials to allow for 80 percent capacity (about 13,000 fans) at Sahlen Field starting June 24, with 95 percent of the seats reserved for fans who are fully vaccinated.

The Blue Jays played 26 games in Buffalo last season, going 17-9.

The Triple-A Buffalo Bisons are playing their home games in Trenton, N.J.
