Top NFL Draft prospect Billy Price reportedly suffered torn pectoral muscle

When news broke earlier on Thursday that former Ohio State offensive lineman Billy Price suffered a shoulder injury during NFL Scouting Combine weight-lifting drills, we were left wondering how serious said injury was.

We now have confirmation. According to Albert Breer of MMQB, the two-time All-American suffered a torn pectoral muscle.

It goes without saying that this is some horrible news for Price. A likely first-round pick prior to the injury, it’s almost impossible to believe that the interior lineman will be ready for Week 1. That will likely push his draft stock to at least the second round of April’s draft. In fact, there’s now a chance he could fall even further.

Some have seen Price as an All-Pro caliber center at the next level. Others conclude he’s best suited playing guard. Either way, Thursday’s injury means that the medicals are going to be an even more important part of the conversation surrounding the former Buckeye standout.
