Tom Brady hopes Chris Long ‘respects his elders,’ doesn’t hit him too hard

When New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady takes the field on Super Bowl Sunday, he will be going up against former teammate, Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long.

Brady shared a message for Long when it comes to potentially getting tackled by him.

“I hope he doesn’t hit me too hard if he gets a shot, Brady said, per Mike Reiss of ESPN. Hopefully he respects his elders a little bit out there.”

Brady will indeed be the oldest player out there when the two teams play. For what it is worth, Long is 32 years old and he played just one season with Brady in New England in 2016. As an Eagle, Long tallied five sacks and 28 combined tackles as well as four forced fumbles in 2017.

He is part of a Philly pass rush that really could make Brady scramble. It also does not help that Brady took 35 sacks in the regular 2017 season.

Hopefully for the veteran quarterback, Long is listening and keeps Brady’s message in mind.
