Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady continues to show he’s extremely savvy when it comes to the business side of football.

After inking his two-year deal with the Bucs, Brady has filed for two new trademark applications: TOMPA BAY and TAMPA BRADY, per trademark lawyer Josh Gerben, who notes the filings “indicate Brady intends to sell clothing, headware and footwear using the trademarks.”

Following up on Gerben’s tweet, Darren Rovell of The Action Network noted that the Dan Patrick Show has been selling “TOMPA BAY” t-shirts already.

Brady has been building his personal brand for years, and his TB12 program is a huge part of that. Now he’s got a production company in Hollywood, and one wonders if he’ll be even more aggressive about promoting himself and his wares now that he’s no longer in the shadow of Bill Belichick and the Patriot Way.
