Employees of professional sports teams have likely been scrambling to delete anonymous social media accounts after it was revealed Philadelphia 76ers executive Bryan Colangelo was potentially using five Twitter handles. And the Minnesota Timberwolves are in on the joke.
The social team posted a brief video logging out of a “gowolves1989121” account — right below the Timberwolves’ official handle.
The “gowolves” account, which was opened in May 2018, is clearly a well-executed troll. If our detective work is correct, T-Wolves digital team member Cody Sharrett is responsible for the creation.
There’s even a response to Minnesota’s short video.

Colangelo is now officially under investigation by the Sixers, but there’s nothing wrong with some ribbing by the Timberwolves.
