Tim Anderson hit a grand slam, Leury Garcia had a double and three RBIs, and the Chicago White Sox pulled away for a 7-3 win over the visiting Cleveland Indians on Saturday afternoon.

Lance Lynn (2-1) pitched five workmanlike innings to help the White Sox even the series at one win apiece heading into Sunday. Lynn allowed three runs on four hits while walking two and striking out two.

Yu Chang finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Austin Hedges had a solo home run for Cleveland, which lost for only the second time in the past six games.

Indians right-hander Triston McKenzie (0-1) surrendered five runs on one hit and four walks in two innings. He struck out six before giving way to right-handed reliever Phil Maton.

White Sox right-hander Michael Kopech took over in the sixth inning for Lynn and continued his dominant start to the season. Kopech threw three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out three, and threw 31 of 44 pitches for strikes as he lowered his ERA to 1.45.

The White Sox jumped to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the second. McKenzie walked the bases loaded with two outs, and then he issued his fourth walk of the inning to Garcia to bring in the first run.

In the next at-bat, Anderson belted a home run to right field for his second career grand slam and his first since April 14, 2019. He took a 90 mph fastball to the opposite field to score Yasmani Grandal, Jake Lamb and Garcia.

Cleveland pulled within 5-2 during the fourth. Chang hit a two-run single to center field to drive in Josh Naylor and Jose Ramirez.
