Three Teams Reportedly Interested in Matt Schaub

Former Oakland Raiders’ backup quarterback Matt Schaub is reportedly drawing interest from three teams.

Apparently the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets are all interested Schaub, a third-round draft pick by Atlanta back in 2004. Schaub played for the Falcons for three seasons before being traded to the Houston Texans in 2007. Inconsistent play and an injury during the 2013 season saw Schaub’s up-and-down tenure with the Texans come to an end prior to last year. He then joined the Raiders in yet another trade, only to warm the bench behind Derek Carr.

Schaub’s most successful season was back in 2009 when he passed for 4,770 yards with 29 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He has also managed two Pro Bowl appearances in an 11-year career.

Wherever Schaub lands, I am sure he will feel lucky just to have a job entering the 2015 season, especially after his recent performance.
