At this rate, the Brooklyn Nets might not even be able to field a team once the 2019-20 NBA season resumes July 30 at Walt Disney World.

Yet another Nets player has tested positive for COVID-19.

Brooklyn Nets starter Taurean Prince to sit out resumption of NBA season after contracting virus

This could very well be a representation of just how hard it is going to be to resume the season after a four-plus month hiatus.

Veteran center DeAndre Jordan and starting guard Spencer Dinwiddie are also opting out after each one tested positive for COVID-19 recently.

Brooklyn Nets 2019-20 season

This trio averaged a combined 41 points per game prior to the season being suspended back on March 11. With Kyrie Irving being outspoken about resuming the season, things are not great in Brooklyn right now.

The Nets will head to Orlando boasting a 30-37 record and as the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.

Once they do return, Irving, Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen will be the only regular starters set to resume the season. Allen himself lost his starting job to the above-mentioned Jordan prior to the season being suspended.

Reserve Nets forward Wilson Chandler had previously opted out of the season due to concerns about his family’s health.

NBA teams close down facilities

All of this comes with multiple NBA teams having to close down their facilities after outbreaks of COVID-19.

It’s certainly a concern for the league. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has admitted that further outbreaks of the virus could put a halt to the season.
