This is just bad news for all parties involved.
For the Texans, it’s disastrous. Following Week 1’s game, all three of Houston’s tight ends — Fiedorowicz, Ryan Griffin and Stephen Anderson — were in the concussion protocol. The only other tight end under contract with the team is Evan Baylis, who will likely go from the practice squad to the starting lineup in less than a week.
For Fiedorowicz, it’s his third concussion in less than a year. That will no doubt bring serious questions into play about his future in the game, beyond just the 2017 season.
The former third-round pick from Iowa had just signed a three-year, $21.5 million extension with the team late last month.
