Terry Francona considering further discipline for Trevor Bauer’s ball-chucking tantrum

Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona 2017 MLB Postseason

MLB came down with its disciplinary verdict for Trevor Bauer on Tuesday, fining him but not issuing a suspension for his epic ball-chucking tantrum Sunday.

The Cleveland Indians, however, may not be content with that.

Manager Terry Francona told reporters Tuesday that he’s considering further discipline for Bauer, per Zack Meisel of The Athletic. He is waiting, it appears, for the MLB trade deadline to pass, noting he wanted to run any potential discipline by top brass before making a decision.

Francona added that, “I don’t want this to be his legacy. This kid’s a good pitcher”

It wouldn’t be surprising in the least if the Indians did issue further disciplinary action. While Bauer was understandably frustrated about his poor pitching Sunday against the Kansas City Royals, his actions were disrespectful toward Francona.
