Terrelle Pryor thought the Patriots were going to sign him

Terrell Pryor might be one of the few players that the Cleveland Browns got right and the New England Patriots got wrong.

The talented wide receiver has gone on record saying that he expected to join the Patriots last offseason. Marc Sessler of NFL.com reported a quote from Pryor about the Patriots potentially signing him:

“I really thought I was going to be a Patriot,” Pryor told The Plain Dealer this month. “I know Bill Belichick really liked me. I had a great workout for them and everything went really well. I really thought he was going to sign me.”

The Patriots might have had a talented wide receiver had they actually brought in the potentially dominant Pryor and matched him with Tom Brady.

Unfortunately for them, this might be the one that the Browns got right. Pryor looks like a true No. 1 wide receiver for an offense that needed it with Corey Coleman and Josh Gordon not playing for various reasons.

Once Cleveland finally figures out its quarterback situation, the team will have a good wide receiver group, a potentially solid offensive line and a guy who might end up being in the top-five wide receivers once he finally figures out the position.

He’s clearly someone the Pats missed on.
