The Tennessee Titans training camp for the 2023 NFL season is nearly here. This space will be your one-stop shop for everything you need to know about the summer practices that are open to the public and some of the biggest storylines heading into camp.

The Titans enter camp hoping to get back to their winning ways after a very frustrating season in 2022. Following two years where they racked up double-digit wins and won the AFC South, the team finished 7-10 and blew a final game chance to win the division.

Last season showed so much promise when the team started the year 7-3 and then absolutely fell apart by losing seven straight. The freefall again sent the message that this team has a quarterback problem with or without Ryan Tannehill in the lineup.

Now, this summer the veteran QB will be back in the top spot and be in a loose competition with failed 2022 third-round pick Malik Willis, and highly touted newcomer Will Levis. The signal-caller situation will be one of several notable stories in camp this year.

With all of that in mind, let’s dive into our Tennessee Titans training camp guide previewing the schedule, top storylines, and frequently asked questions.

Can Will Levis push for a larger role?

For a second straight NFL Draft, the organization took a QB that they hope can evolve into Tannehill’s replacement. In 2022 it was Malik Willis, this year it is Will Levis. The Kentucky product seems to have more upside but Willis showed that being an early-round pick does not guarantee a talent is NFL-ready.

Finding a new franchise signal-caller has been a franchise pursuit for nearly two decades and there will be a lot of pressure on this year’s rookie QB to finally be the heir apparent to Steve McNair.

Is this Derrick Henry’s final Titans training camp?

After months of rumors he could be cut or traded, Derrick Henry will be in Titans camp for an eighth straight year. However, all signs point to it being his last as he enters the final year of his contract. The team legend has been the heart of their offense throughout his career and will be relied on to be that again in 2023. The question is will he let the lack of appreciation from the franchise affect his performance in camp and early in the season?

Will Treylon Burks bounce back from rookie season struggles?

Malik Willis wasn’t the only high-draft pick that struggled last season. Top pick Treylon Burks also battled hurdles in his first season, including weight and injury issues. He needs to evolve into an impact player on offense this season and that starts this summer. Many eyes will be on the 2022 first-round pick in July and August.

More pass-rushing threats must arise

The Tennessee defense lacked serious pass-rushing threats in 2022. Part of the reason was that Denico Autry and Jeffrey Simmons missed several games last season. In camp and early in the season both must prove they can be consistent, healthy, and grow in ways that help take the Titans’ defense to some desperately needed new levels.
