Tennessee freshman guard Keon Johnson on Wednesday announced his intention to declare for the 2021 NBA Draft.

Johnson told ESPN that he will forgo his remaining college eligibility and hire an agent.

“The NBA has always been my goal, but I never expected it to come this soon,” the 6-foot-5 Johnson told the network. “I really don’t care what number I get drafted at. I just want to go somewhere I fit in that organization. Where I can keep developing and find my niche.”

Johnson also took to Twitter to thank coach Rick Barnes, the rest of the coaching staff and the Volunteers’ fans.

Johnson averaged 11.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 27 games (17 starts) last season. He was named to the SEC’s All-Freshman Team after shooting 44.9 percent from the floor.

The NBA Draft will be conducted on July 29.
