Tennessee head coach compares team to the Titanic

The Tennessee Volunteers football program is an absolute dumpster fire right now. Jeremy Pruitt’s squad lost its season opener to Georgia State before falling to BYU this past weekend.

At 0-2, it doesn’t seem like there’s an end in sight to the struggles we’ve seen in Knoxville thus far this season.

Pruitt pretty much indicated as much in comparing his team to the doomed Titanic ship.

“When the boat starts going down, remember all those mice running to the top, right?” Pruitt said Monday, via Knox News. “We have had a few that’s left our program, but you will figure out who wants to be a Tennessee Vol and who don’t.”

That really is the perfect comparison. Tennessee has acted as its own iceberg during this two-game losing streak to start the season.

The Vols rank 112th in the nation in scoring defense and have given up an average of 350 yards per outing.

Next up, Tennessee takes on Chattanooga at Neyland Stadium Saturday. A loss here, and another comparison might be in order.
