Team USA women heavily backed as major gold medal favorites

The public is heavily backing Team USA as massive favorites ahead of Saturday’s women’s basketball gold medal game at the Tokyo Olympics.

Team USA is an 18.5-point favorite against Japan by DraftKings, where they are being backed by 69 percent of the money and the total bets. And the United States’ -2000 moneyline has received 98 percent of the money and 95 percent of the total bets.

The sportsbook has set the Over/Under at 160.0 total points, with the Under being backed by 89 percent of the money and 68 percent of the bets.

The U.S. women’s basketball team is seeking to win gold for the seventh consecutive Olympics. The last time they lost a game in the Olympics was in 1992.

The gold medal game is at 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night. The teams also played in the group stage, with the U.S. winning 86-69.
