Mike Miles scored 20 points and Charles O’Bannon Jr. added 15 as visiting TCU used a decisive run over the final 7 1/2 minutes to defeat Georgetown 80-73 Saturday as part of the Big East-Big 12 Battle in Washington, D.C.

The Horned Frogs (9-1) led by three points at the half but trailed by two with eight minutes left before Miles and Xavier Cork led a 14-2 surge that allowed TCU to build a nine-point advantage with 4:14 to play.

All of O’Bannon’s points came in the first half for TCU, which has won six straight games. The Horned Frogs were 10 of 12 from the free-throw line in the second half and outrebounded Georgetown 44-35 for the game.

Aminu Mohammed led all scorers with 21 points while Kaiden Rice hit for 14 for Georgetown (6-5), which had a three-game winning streak snapped.

The first half went back and forth, with the Horned Frogs taking charge early and leading by as many as seven points before Georgetown climbed back to the game via a 9-0 run and took a 32-30 advantage after two free throws by Mohammed with 2:39 left in the half.

TCU answered with a 9-2 run to go up 39-34 on O’Bannon’s 3-pointer with 1:01 left and settled for a 39-36 lead at the break.

O’Bannon’s 15 first-half points came on 6 of 8 shooting from the field and three 3-pointers. The Horned Frogs were 8 of 19 from beyond the arc over the first 20 minutes.

Mohammed paced the Hoyas’ first-half offense with 11 points and six rebounds. Georgetown finished the half by hitting 5 of 6 shots from the floor.

Georgetown led 61-59 after Rice’s 3-pointer with 8:03 to play, but the Horned Frogs reeled off a 14-3 run, keyed by two buckets and a blocked shot by Cork, to take charge.
