The Victoria HarbourCats, a summer-collegiate baseball team in Victoria, British Columbia are running a rather morbid promotion.
They are offering not just a funeral, but pretty much everything that one would need for his/her funeral.
The @HarbourCats are giving away a funeral package at a game next week. It includes a will, death certificate, cremation and an urn valued at approximately $2,400. The good thing is that it doesn't expire. Kind of a perfect prize for a city with a lot of old people actually

That’s an interesting promotion.
Harbourcats managing partner, Jim Swanson, noted (per CTV Vancouver Island) that “It’s a very valuable package, it’s actually the most valuable prize we’ll give away at the park this year.”
Most Minor League promotions are gimmicks to get people into the stadium, or contests for something that the winner can enjoy in life. Obviously, this doesn’t quite fit the latter category.
But, we suppose that you can’t place a value on peace of mind.
With that in mind, all we can say is good luck to the contestants. To those who don’t win, there’s always next year — hopefully.
