Free agent guard Kia Nurse signed a contract with the Seattle Storm on Friday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the Storm for Nurse, who took to social media to announce the move.

“Gooood morning Seattle,” she wrote.

“Kia is a talented, versatile guard and a proven impact player and competitor in our league,” Storm general manager Talisa Rhea said in a news release. “She brings valuable experience as a leader of Team Canada on the international stage, and we look forward to the positive impact she will have on our team here in Seattle.”

Nurse sat out the 2022 season while recovering from a torn right ACL she sustained in a 2021 WNBA playoff game.

The 26-year-old Ontario native averaged 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 32 games (all starts) with the Phoenix Mercury in 2021. She has contributed 11.0 points, 2.8 boards and 2.0 assists in 121 career games (91 starts) with the New York Liberty and Mercury.

Nurse was selected by the Liberty with the 10th overall pick of the 2018 WNBA Draft out of UConn.

The Storm, who finished 22-14 last season, will debut a new lineup when their season begins May 20 against defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces. Franchise icon Sue Bird retired, and Breanna Stewart, the 2018 league MVP, is joining the New York Liberty as a free agent.

Last season, the Storm advanced to league semifinals but lost a 3-1 series to the Aces.
