Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr gave his season-ending press conference Friday, one day after the Warriors lost to the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals.

One of the things Kerr talked about was the impending free agency of injured star forward Kevin Durant.

Kerr noted that Durant’s ruptured Achilles “complicates things” while also saying that he has no idea what the two-time NBA Finals MVP is going to do once July comes calling.

Durant has long been rumored to be on the move. However, he also pushed back against the idea throughout the 2018-19 season. Specifically, Durant has taken the media to task multiple times.

Whether the injury enhances Golden State’s chances of retaining Durant remains to be seen. The Warriors are reportedly still willing to offer him a five-year, $240 million max-level contract. It’s about $50 million more than any other team can offer Durant.

What we do know is that KD will more than likely miss the entire 2019-20 season. Anyone signing him, the Warriors included, know this.
