Whether it was in good humor or something completely different, there appears to be a rift between Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant and music icon Rihanna. That came out in a big way during Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, with Rihanna mocking Durant when he missed a free throw and the former MVP staring her down after hitting this shot.
Either way, this is an interesting backstory as the Warriors look to take a 2-0 series lead against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.
For his part, two-time reigning MVP Stephen Curry doesn’t necessarily seem to be a big fan of Rihanna. In fact, the Warriors as a whole apparently don’t listen to her music.
Reporter: "You haven't banned Rihanna's music from the locker room playlist?"
Steph: "I don't think it was on there to begin with." pic.twitter.com/nnGsCzUNFu

Talk about throwing shade.
Interestingly, both Durant and Rihanna are represented by Roc Nation, which was founded by fellow music superstar Jay-Z back in 2013.
One really has to wonder what is happening between the two, especially considering Rihanna herself seems to be a Cavs super fan and Durant has no real rift with any member of that team, LeBron James included.
