St. Louis Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist will have surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee and miss the rest of the season.

Sundqvist, who turns 27 on Tuesday, was injured when he collided with teammate Kyle Clifford in a 2-1 shootout win over the San Jose Sharks on Friday.

He missed a 5-2 Blues win over the Sharks on Saturday night and will have surgery when he returns to St. Louis.

“It’s a tough loss for sure,” St. Louis coach Craig Berube said. “We’re going to miss him, but we’ve got guys that are going to come in and fill in, and everybody’s just got to pick up the slack. That’s all you can do.”

Sundqvist had four goals and five assists through 28 games this season.

In 229 career games with the Blues and the Pittsburgh Penguins, Sundqvist has totaled 32 goals and 40 assists.
