Spring Training Scores: Rays outslug Pirates

Tampa Bay Rays starter Tyler Glasnow struck out seven over four innings and the Tampa Bay Rays held on for a 10-9 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday at Bradenton, Fla.

Glasnow still gave up four runs on six hits, but fared far better than Pirates starter Mitch Keller, who gave up eight runs on 10 hits over two innings.

Ryan Boldt, Miles Mastrobuoni and Austin Meadows hit home runs as the Rays scored eight times over the first three innings.

Red Sox 9, Twins 1

Eduardo Rodriguez struck out six over five innings, while Bobby Dalbec hit a grand slam and Rafael Devers added a three-run shot as Boston cruised past Minnesota at Fort Myers, Fla. The Twins were held to just three hits.

Phillies 2, Tigers 0

Zach Wheeler struck out four over five innings and Odubel Herrera hit his third home run of the spring as Philadelphia defeated Detroit at Clearwater, Fla. Robbie Grossman had two hits for the Tigers.

Marlins 3, Mets 2

Sandy Alcantara struck out nine over five scoreless innings, while Jazz Chisholm and Joe Dunand hit home runs as Miami defeated New York at Jupiter, Fla. Albert Almora Jr. had a two-run double for the Mets.

Yankees 1, Blue Jays 0

Jordan Montgomery pitched five scoreless innings, while Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton each had two hits as New York blanked Toronto at Dunedin, Fla. Bo Bichette had one of the Blue Jays’ five singles.

Dodgers 4, White Sox 3

Walker Buehler had five strikeouts over four innings and Will Smith hit a home run as Los Angeles defeated Chicago at Glendale, Ariz. White Sox Opening Day starter Lucas Giolito had six strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings, while giving up two runs.

Athletics 10, Royals 5

Matt Olson hit a home run, while Aramis Garcia and Ka’ai Tom each drove in two runs as Oakland defeated Kansas City at Mesa, Ariz. Ryan McBroom and Hunter Dozier each hit home runs for Kansas City.

Giants 11, Rockies 8

Jason Krizan and Alex Dickerson each hit home runs as San Francisco scored eight times over the final four innings to defeat Colorado at Scottsdale, Ariz. Trevor Story, C.J. Cron and Ryan Vilade each had two hits for the Rockies.
