As Week 9 of the 2020 NFL Schedule approaches, let’s take a look at some fantasy football players who are primed to shine, making them must-starts in this weekend’s games.
Josh Allen, quarterback, Buffalo Bills: The fantasy start of the week
Allen’s last outing was an absolute stinker. He delivered a mere 177 yards with a touchdown and an interception in a narrow win over the New England Patriots in Week 8.
In Week 9, however, Allen is an absolute fantasy start against Seattle. Likely, Allen will need to be very competitive to keep up with the Seahawks’ dominating offense. Along the way, Allen should slice his way through a Seattle defense giving up the most quarterback fantasy points on the season.
Update November 9, 2020: Our prediction for Allen was spot on. Allen had a rock star fantasy performance, after passing for a massive 415 yards and three touchdowns. He also tacked on a rushing score to further reward those who started him in Week 9 against Seattle.

Chase Edmonds, running back, Arizona Cardinals
We most recently saw Edmonds tally 145 yards partially sharing the field with Kenyan Drake, who exited late game against Seattle with an ankle injury.
If Drake should sit out in Week 9, Edmonds is a hot fantasy start facing the Dolphins. Miami is allowing nearly five yards per carry, along with 149 total yards from the running back position this season.

Marvin Jones, wide receiver, Detroit Lions
Kenny Golladay has been ruled out for Week 9. This makes Jones an ideal fantasy start, especially in DFS lineups against the Minnesota Vikings. Minnesota’s passing defense is a joke and wide receivers are averaging 196 yards per clash. The Vikings have also given away 15 touchdowns to receivers over their seven games.
This all sets Jones up to be a solid fantasy football start, even with quarterback Matthew Stafford on the COVID-19 list and potentially out. Stay tuned for updates.
Tom Brady, quarterback, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The game of Week 9 on the NFL 2020 schedule
Brady needs to be started in all fantasy formats in Week 9 at home against New Orleans. In prime time “Sunday Night Football,” Brady should absolutely thrive. Look for him to take advantage of a Saints defense that is yielding the sixth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks on the season.
An All-Star cast should also help Brady achieve fantasy stardom in Week 9. This includes Antonio Brown, who, according to Bruce Arians, is expected to have an immediate role with his new team.
James Robinson, running back, Jacksonville Jaguars
Robinson last recorded 137 total yards and two touchdowns against the Chargers in Week 7. Now, he has the chance to deliver another stud fantasy football performance when the Jags face the Houston Texans on Sunday.
Robinson should feast on a Houston defense that currently gives away 189 total yards to running backs on the season. He’ll have a big game here.
Noah Fant, tight end, Denver Broncos
For those who stream fantasy tight ends, take a look at Fant as an option in Week 9.
He makes for an excellent start, going up against a Falcons defense that is allowing the most fantasy points to tight ends on average. Thus far, tight ends have averaged 68 yards and one touchdown each week.
Start Fant with confidence in his very favorable Week 9 matchup.
