With the Los Angeles Angels set to take on the division-rival Oakland Athletics on Opening Day, Japanese sensation Shohei Ohtani is expected to make his regular season MLB debut.
According to this one report, Ohtani is in the lineup and will act as the Angels’ designated hitter.

A two-way player, Ohtani is also expected to be Los Angeles’ starting pitcher for the last game of the opening series on Sunday.
Ohtani, 23, hit just .105 in 23 at-bats during Spring Training. He also posted a 27.00 ERA in two spring starts. The hope here is that the regular season will bring out the talent that had Ohtani as the most attractive player available on the market during the winter.
