The Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Jake Fraley on the injured list Sunday and recalled outfielder Dillon Thomas from Triple-A Tacoma.

Seattle manager Scott Servais said that Fraley tested positive for COVID-19 and has symptoms. Servais said Fraley is isolating at the team hotel in Anaheim, Calif., while the Mariners are playing the Los Angeles Angels.

Fraley, 26, is batting .237 and a .409 on-base percentage, seven homers, 23 RBIs and 33 walks in 40 games in 2021.

A second-round pick by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2016, Fraley is a .206 career hitter over 59 games in parts of three seasons with the Mariners.

Thomas, 28, joins the Mariners for the second time this season. He made his MLB debut on June 9 and went 1-for-8 with two RBIs and six strikeouts in two games.
