Northwestern shut down Saquon Barkley to the tune of minus-one yards in the first half Saturday. But the Wildcats weren’t able to keep him in check for long once the second half got going.
Showing off his signature blend of patience, vision, agility and pure speed, Barkley finally busted loose in the third quarter. He romped 53 yards for his second touchdown of the game, and the way he did it was predictably amazing.
This touchdown gave Penn State a 24-0 lead. It also proved why you never, ever want to stop feeding this young man. Sooner or later, he is going to break off a huge gain.
