The San Francisco 49ers signed running back Jacques Patrick off the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

Undrafted out of Florida State in 2019, Patrick led the Bengals with 156 rushing yards and a touchdown during the 2021 preseason.

The injury-depleted 49ers (2-0) host the Green Bay Packers (1-1) on Sunday night.

San Francisco lost starting running back Raheem Mostert to season-ending knee surgery after Week 1. Elijah Mitchell left Sunday’s win at Philadelphia with a shoulder injury and was replaced by JaMycal Hasty, who wound up leaving the game with high-ankle sprain. Rookie Trey Sermon then suffered a head injury and fullback Kyle Juszcyk left the field with leg cramps.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan on Monday said Mitchell and Sermon “have a chance” to play this weekend. Hasty is expected to miss a few weeks.

Shanahan also said former Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson could be activated from the practice squad.
