The San Francisco 49ers placed right tackle Mike McGlinchey on injured reserve Wednesday.

McGlinchey sustained a torn quadriceps in the 49ers’ 31-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and will miss the remainder of the season.

McGlinchey, 26, has started 52 games since being selected by the 49ers with the ninth overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Tom Compton replaced McGlinchey on Sunday for the 49ers, who elevated offensive lineman Colton McKivitz from the practice squad to the active roster on Tuesday.

McKivitz, 25, played in 14 games (three starts) during his rookie season in 2020.
