Russell Wilson Plans to Attend Texas Rangers Spring Training

After an incredibly disappointing loss in Super Bowl XLIX, Seattle Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson is reportedly switching gears and is planning on attending spring training for the Texas Rangers.

Wilson attended spring training last year in the minor-league portion and reportedly will participate in the minor-league portion of the Rangers’ training this year. As a former second basemen, Wilson was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles right out of high school and again in 2010 after college by the Colorado Rockies. He also played in the minor leagues in 2011.

During his time with the Rockies organization, Wilson hit .229, with five home runs and 26 runs batted in 93 Class-A games.

It’s good to see Wilson pursuing other interests so quickly after dealing with the painful loss in the Super Bowl. As for MLB, pitchers and catchers are set to report to the Rangers’ training camp on February 20.
