Russell Wilson is known for his dual-threat ability, but the Seattle Seahawks quarterback thinks a new teammate can occasionally display elite speed, too.
According to Jeff Bell of The News Tribune, Wilson said tight end Jimmy Graham can essentially run a 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds when he really gets moving.

Now, without the benefit of tracking statistics, the exact truthfulness of Wilson’s statement remains a question. Then again, it doesn’t really matter.
According to NFL.com, Graham ran a 4.56-second 40-yard dash at the 2010 NFL Combine. So, whether he’s a 4.4 guy or not, that’s pretty darn fast for a 6-foot-7, 265-pound tight end.
Graham’s basketball background—he’s the career record-holder for blocks at the University of Miami—certainly contributes to his elite athleticism. From seam routes to wheel routes to yards after catch, Wilson will be the beneficiary of Graham’s talents this year.
Wilson, Graham and the Seahawks open the 2015 NFL regular season against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, Sep. 13, at 1 p.m. ET.
