Randal Grichuk hit a tiebreaking double in the top of the ninth inning to help the Colorado Rockies notch a 4-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night in Phoenix.

Kris Bryant, Brendan Rodgers and Ryan McMahon also had run-scoring hits as the Rockies ended a three-game losing streak by winning the opener of the four-game series.

Carson Kelly homered and had three RBIs for Arizona, which lost its second straight contest.

Jose Iglesias led off the Colorado ninth with a ground single off Mark Melancon (3-7). Grichuk followed by going the opposite way with a double to right-center field, and Iglesias used a hook slide to narrowly beat the tag at the plate.

Daniel Bard pitched the bottom of the ninth for his 17th save in 19 opportunities. Daulton Varsho drew a two-out walk against Bard before the Rockies closer retired Geraldo Perdomo on a fly to center to end it.

Arizona’s Dallas Keuchel gave up three runs and seven hits over seven innings. He struck out four and walked none.

Colorado’s Austin Gomber allowed three runs and six hits over five innings. He fanned five and walked one.

C.J. Cron hit a bloop double with two outs in the eighth for the Rockies, but Noe Ramirez retired Rodgers on a liner to left to end the inning.

In the bottom half, Ketel Marte walked with two outs against Carlos Estevez (2-4), and Christian Walker followed with a single to right. Estevez worked out of the jam by striking out pinch hitter Alek Thomas.

Colorado started the game with back-to-back doubles by Connor Joe and Bryant to get on the board. One out later, Rodgers singled to center to score Bryant.

The Diamondbacks tied the score in the second when Buddy Kennedy doubled with one out and Kelly followed with a 420-foot homer to left off Gomber. It was Kelly’s third blast of the season.

Colorado took a 3-2 lead in the fourth as Grichuk doubled with two outs and scored on McMahon’s ground single to right.

Arizona tied the score in the bottom of the inning as Walker doubled with one out and scored on Kelly’s two-out single to left.
