Rob Gronkowski subtly shades Jason Witten

Two of the best tight ends in modern NFL history. One wasn’t worth a lick in the broadcast booth. The other is drawing rave reviews for Fox Sports.

Of course, we’re talking about Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten and former New England Patriots Pro Bowler Rob Gronkowski.

We now have some tight end on tight end crime courtesy of Gronkowski. Appearing on the Fox pregame show Sunday, the Super Bowl winner subtly shaded his counterpart.

That’s just a great troll job right there. Witten, 37, came out of a one-year retirement this season. He’s caught just 36 passes for 338 yards and two touchdowns in nine games.

For his part, Gronkowski just recently took to Instagram noting that he’ll have a big announcement on Tuesday. Could that include a return to the NFL with his former Patriots team? Only time will tell on that front.

As it is, we’re waiting to see if Mr. Witten will respond in kind. Don’t bank on him going for the bait.
