Normally a player being listed as a limited participant during a mid-week practice wouldn’t be a huge deal. That’s until we realized said player is injury-plagued New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

The five-time Pro Bowler has missed three games to injury this season and just returned last week against the New York Jets. At issue has been ailments to his ankle and back.

Apparently, Gronkowski is not 100 percent healthy. He was listed on the Patriots’ practice report for Thursday as a limited participant.

This has to be concerning for the brass in New England. Gronkowski simply can’t stay healthy. It’s led to a major downtick in production from the future Hall of Fame tight end.

Set to take on the Minnesota Vikings’ elite-level defense this weekend, the Patriots need Gronkowski to be at (or near) 100 percent. Based on this most-recent news, that’s highly unlikely to be the case.
