Rick Renteria ejected
David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

Chicago White Sox manager Rick Renteria was furious with umpire Angel Hernandez on Sunday after Eloy Jimenez was struck out looking on a pitch that seemed outside the zone.

Jimenez was justifiably upset and could have been tossed himself, but Renteria came charging out from the dugout and rescued his young star. For his efforts, he was ejected for the sixth time this yea and the 25th of his career.

Hernandez is infamous for his work behind the plate, and it sure seemed like he was (again) in the wrong here.

One young fan summed up the entire stadium’s view of the entire encounter, prompting Renteria to come out of the dugout and give him a “thumbs up” in response.
