Richie Incognito must be really bored, because the veteran offensive guard has turned the 2018 offseason into one drawn-out joke of whether he’ll be retiring from or returning to the NFL.
After saying “I’m done” earlier in the week and giving interviews on that subject, Incognito tweeted Friday that it was a “short lived retirement” and he would show up to Buffalo’s offseason program.

Saturday, however, he requested a release from his contract. Incognito “directed” the Bills to contact the agency Athletes First for further updates.

Oh, about that. Nine days earlier, he fired Athletes First via Twitter.
@AthletesFirst You are Fired! I wish you guys nothing but the best moving forward. Thank you for all of your help and guidance along the way. It’s time for me to go in a new direction ✌🏼

At this point, the NFL world has little idea whether Incognito will be in uniform — and, frankly, he might continue playing this offseason game for a while. Maybe he’s waiting on the $300,000 LeSean McCoy offered him to return.
Buffalo’s preseason schedule kicks off against the Carolina Panthers in early August. Richie, we will see you there, or we will see you on another time.
