The San Diego Padres dealt for veteran infielder Brandon Drury from the Cincinnati Reds before Tuesday’s MLB trade deadline, multiple reports said.

Shortstop prospect Victor Acosta is headed to Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

Drury, 29, is in his eighth MLB season and first with the Reds. Drury is batting .274 in 92 games and has already set career highs in home runs (20), OPS (.855) and runs (62). He’s also recorded 22 doubles, 59 RBIs and 29 walks.

The Padres added Drury to a trade-deadline haul that included Washington Nationals superstar outfielder Juan Soto, Nationals first baseman Josh Bell and Milwaukee Brewers closer Josh Hader.

The Padres entered Tuesday’s action 12 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West but in possession of the second wild-card spot.

Acosta, 18, is the No. 6 prospect in the Padres’ organization, according to MLB Pipeline. Acosta is batting .243 with two homers and 11 RBIs in 32 games in the rookie-level complex league.
