Report: Tyrod Taylor suffered a dislocated pinky in Thursday’s game

In Thursday night’s preseason matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, many were fearful when Tyrod Taylor exited the game with a gruesome wrist injury.

Yet even in preseason action, the Cleveland Browns brought out their starting quarterback into the action once again after he was cleared. Now we’ve learned, Taylor reportedly played with a dislocated pinky.

The report certainly makes the decision by head coach Hue Jackson, a decision to allow Taylor to return that drew plenty of criticism, even more questionable. Given how emphatic Jackson has been that Taylor is the team’s starter, risking his health behind a shaky offensive line seemed extremely dangerous.

It’s fortunate Taylor was able to avoid a major injury given how bad it looked on the play. Fortunately, Cleveland avoided a major setback at the quarterback position and now won’t have to turn to Baker Mayfield before he is ready.
