Report: Seahawks Trade Percy Harvin to the Jets

Fox Sports insider Jay Glazer is reporting that the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to send wide receiver Percy Harvin to the New York Jets for a conditional draft pick.

This is absolutely stunning news for both teams. Seattle exhausted a first and third round pick on Harvin leading up to the 2013 season. He missed the vast majority of last year with an injury, but did make a huge impact in the team’s Super Bowl win against the Denver Broncos this past February.

There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to this deal from Seattle’s standpoint, as Harvin looked absolutely electric when he was on the field for the first five games of the season.

For the Jets, they get that one play maker that we know John Idzik and Co. have been looking for. The team signed Eric Decker to a long-term contract in the offseason, but he’s nothing more than a marginal starting receiver in the NFL.

It remains to be seen what Seattle will get back in this deal, but we can draw the conclusion that it will depend on Harvin’s health and what he does with the Jets moving forward this season.

We will have updates when they become available.
