According to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Seattle Seahawks are the front-running team to strike a deal with free agent defensive end Ziggy Ansah.

Ansah became a free agent after playing his last six seasons with the Detroit Lions. He was a fifth-overall pick from the 2013 NFL Draft.

If the Seahawks and Ansah strike a deal, he will help fill a huge void that the team created after trading pass rusher Frank Clark away to the Kansas City Chiefs.

During his tenure with the Lions, Ansah tallied 48 sacks, 218 combined tackles and 10 forced fumbles.

Provided he can stay healthy, and that a deal is struck, the Pro-Bowl defensive end would make an immediate impact on the Seahawks defense.
